Summer is Here

Hi There dear friends ...

I sure have missed you.
I have been a bit out of comission. My shoulder is still bothering me and now even more since I have a "frozen shoulder". It makes it very hard to do anything and typing is not a very pleasant thing as I have to type a lot at my work during the day. I have been trying to "visit" all of you as much as I can, but haven't been able to comment very much ... you know ... the typing thing again.

I have been enjoying the start of the summer and all that the sun brings to us.

The flowers have just been gorgeous around us.

I also have been working on a few things, but really cannot show much of it until after this weekend. I have been working on graduation gifts and those are somewhat of a secret till this weekend when my daughter graduates from High School.

They have had Prom ... Here is a picture of my beautiful Jewels ... my daughter and my handsome son...my two more precious gifts.

And then a picture of Mama and daughter ... Happy :)

Now it's preparing for graduation this weekend ...

Talking about that its hard to believe she is graduating and going to college. Life is going at such a fast speed I have a hard time believing all these is happening right in front of my eyes, but I am really enjoying every minute of it.

She has finished all her finals...she has practiced and we are all ready for it ...
and it will all happen this weekend.

Although I have not had much time to knit and crochet as I said many of my projects are now hiding ... but ...

Amongst all "the things I cannot show you yet" I have been doing so many washcloths I can almost do them with my eyes closed ... ha, ha !!!
I think I have mentioned before that this is a pattern from Pearl Soho and I really, really love it. It is the "wedding washcloths".

Before I go I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you my great friends who have donated to my HATS TO BRAZIL project.
I have collected 95 hats and my luggage is completely full So although I had thought about bringing more hats I got just the perfect amount as I can only bring 1 luggage due to my shoulder injury and I got so many beautiful hats it will fill the hearts of so many mothers and keep so many babies warm.

Thank you ,THANK YOU, Thank You.
Look at this picture .... What a beautiful view ...
And it is all because of YOU and your loving heart :)

You generosity and love keep my heart warm and makes me feel so proud and grateful to be part of such a wonderful community and to have you as a friend.

I will try to stay in contact while I'm in Brazil, but if I cannot post here find me on my IG feed.
Until then stay cool and Happy Knitting and Crocheting!!!

Beautiful Shawl

Hi there dear friends
Can you believe that march is already upon us ???
I have been working hard and getting things ready for my husband's "special birthday" this month.

spring break will be here soon and although we don't have big plans we may scape and go to the beach for a couple of days ... bliss.

I have been working on the washcloths for my daughter, but my favorite project right now is my shawlette and a new KAL shawl I'm hoping to start this weekend.

One of my friends was making this one last time we met for knitnite and I just had to start it. When I looked at it it felt almost like a "knitted paint".

It is Leftie (for leftovers because you can use leftovers for the leafs if you wish) by Martina Behm. I just love it and it is not too hard to do. Once you get going with the leaves the garter stitch section goes really fast and garter stitch is so relaxing to me.

So be prepared for a shower of pictures ...although I'm not done and it's not blocked yet.

I think now you got it how much I love this little shawllette.

But don't be fooled, I already have my eye set on another project.

I have been visiting Lori and her fantastic blog Lori Times Five for a while now. She has the most beautiful pictures and her trips are just inspiring to me. I absolutely loooove every project that she makes and cannot wait for her next post. So I decided to go look on her IG since she does not post as often as she post on IG (as all of us do) and for my delight now I get almost a daily dose of her pictures there.

She went on the most beautiful trip to the Shetlands with several talented knitters/designers and she loves to make shawls. Through her blog I have found Beatrice's blog and website, Thread and Ladle,  and I am going to try my first online KAL. Beatrice is also very, very talented and I absolutely fell in love with her blog and her designs.

The Liesellote Shawl.

I'm going to the 2015 Yarn Crawl here in Portland, OR tomorrow with my friends and my most exciting mission is to find the yarn for this fantastic shawl,

Now I think it's time to go get dinner and go to bed early so I will have lots of energy for my adventure tomorrow. I look forward to this day every year and I'm so very excited.

Thank you for visiting me today ...I Hope you all have a great weekend and thank you for all the love you show me every day :)

Christmas Cowl ... Christmas Spirit

Hi there friends ...

I continue to work on my hats ... Hats and more hats ... I'm getting quiet good at not even needing to look while knitting.
But today I want to show you my Christmas Cowl ... I always wanted a scarf ... A cowl ... A shawl .,, that I would only wear around Christmas ... And that reminds me of Christmas .
Well... Last month I went to one of our local Yarn shops - Twisted - its quiet a fun shop ... When I went in the first thing I saw was " the cowl " , the cowl I have been looking for for quiet some time ..
One of the knitters that works there wrote the pattern and my friend Tammie and I decided we were going to do a knit along ... Just to keep us motivated to finish it before Christmas. My friend finished hers, and she has already worn it. I'm working a little slower this days as I have a lot of Christmas gifts in the make ... But here is mine and i think I'm getting closer to being done ...

I think I'm going to finish mine for Christmas ... :)
Here are the details in case you fancy to make one ...
Eivor by Sorren Clare Kerr - Find it in Ravelry.
I'm using Malabrigo Mecha - Natural and Malabrigo worsted Sealing Wax.

Hope you are enjoying the season and that the Spirit of Christmas is filling your hearts with joy.
Thanks for stopping by to see me and for all your wonderful comments.
I appreciate each and every one of them.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Hi There my friends.
Hope you are having a wonderful week.

I have been working and working and my daughter has been sick so I haven't been able to do much ... but here we are and tonight its
HALLOWEEN...
We don't go "trick-o-treating" anymore, our kids are teens now, but we are ready for the little ones to come visit us ...
I make chili and cupcakes every year and this year some of our kids friends are going to stop by ...
I made some treats for them.

I made this cute pumpkin to give to a friend. I have been making some of them every year. It's a cute pattern I bought in one of our local yarn stores and my knitting group and I make them every year. I have a pretty good collection of them in my house. This one went to a friend who invited us for a Halloween party last week.

We are staying home and enjoying a quiet, relaxing evening.

Where ever you are I hope you are enjoying your day and if you celebrate I hope you have a GREAT HALLOWEEN !!!

Thanks for all the great comments you leave for me and have a wonderful weekend.

My Ravelry Collection

Hi there friends.
I have been so busy trying to get the house in order and the kids set up to start school again.
Summer is coming to an end and I can hardly believe school is going to start in one week here for us ... where did the 3 months summer vacation go ???

I have been busy cleaning, unpacking more boxes and getting ready for a new school year.
My daughter is going to be a Senior this year... and after HS comes to an end ... off to a new path and to college she will be. Independence and all the fun and responsibilities that come with it ...
I knew this day would get here... I'm glad this day got here ... but I can't lie I'm a bit nostalgic about it.
It's just starting now, but sooner than I expect it will be ending and she will be turning a huge new page in her life.
Don't get me wrong I'm very happy and extremely excited for her. The perspectives are for a beautiful future and the dreams are endless. I want her to go explore and live life to the fullest... but I will for sure miss my little girl. Till the day she goes though I'm going to live every second and every moment with her... I'm going to enjoy seeing her grow up to be the smart, beautiful, kind young woman she is becoming ... the young woman I'm so proud of.

Now ... I have been working on several different projects this week, but honestly have not taken any pictures yet because I have been updating my Ravelry account. Since I started my blog I have not even posted one single project on my Ravelry space. I post here and forget that Ravelry can be so very helpful and so fun for so many other people to look at.
So, I decided to go on and start updating my profile and have started with a few pictures of my projects.
While it is still a work in progress I sure made a little progress tonight and here are a few of the pictures I posted there :

wow, after I posted some of the pictures I do have a feeling that shawls, scarves and cowls are my favorite things to knit and crochet ...
I do love the instant gratification that these projects bring to me ...
These are mostly the ones I made for myself and I can honestly say I made at least 50 of them last year... Mostly gifts for family and friends ...
They make me happy and i hope they make somebody happy also...

And if this is the whole purpose of my knitting ... to make somebody happy and make me happy ... I think I will keep on doing it ...

I will leave you with a picture of a wip ... Another one I just started yesterday for my daughter's new year at school ...  Will give you all the details as soon as I finish it.

And life goes on... as happy as we can make it :)

Hope you are having a fabulous week ... and thank you for coming to visit me today, you make me happy.
