Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival

Hi there friends , 

Hope you are having a wonderful week.

This last weekend I went to the OFFF - Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival.

We have it every year here in Canby, Oregon.

A fun way for all the great people ( and animals) that make the beautiful fibers for us knitters and crocheters and all other crafters ( not sure those are real words) to get together and show their beautiful work of art.

The festival starts on Fridays with just some classes and workshops and on Saturday and Sunday it's open to everyone ... and that is when we went.

This year not many of our friends from our knitting group could go so my friends Shan, Theresa and I went and had such a wonderful time.

We saw so many beautiful yarns, beautiful fibers to spin and the beautiful

Animals who gifts us with their gorgeous fibers.

I didn't buy very much yarn this year, to be honest I only bought 1 skein.., can you believe it ? But I bought a big woven basket to keep my projects all in one beautiful spot in our great room.

I'm sorry I forgot to take a picture of my goodies but I promise I will show it to you later.

My friend Shan got so many compliments on her shawl she was wearing we had to stop every 5 minutes because everybody wanted to ask her about it ... It's absolutely gorgeous and it was definitely not easy, but she is a great knitter ... And she did a great job ... 

We did have a wonderful time looking through all the great things they had this year,  but most of all I have to say I had a great, great time spending time with my friends ... It makes life all worth it .

Can you believe I'm still working on my ripple blanket ?

Hi there friends.
I have been so extremely busy att work I have been getting home late and haven't really had energy to work on much of what I really enjoy doing...
I go to work... Work, work, work,
I get home ... Work ... Work... Work...
But if I get a minute here and there you know what I do ...
I knit...I crochet... I knit....

And yes, I have started a couple of projects but just didn't have time to take pictures yet...

I am almost done with my forever going ripple blanket so I thought I show it to you today ...

I think I have made some progress and I'm almost, almost done .

The weather is sure turning here in the Northwest and Fall is sure here to stay. The evenings are getting colder and they are saying the rain is coming soon ...
So I think I'm finishing my blanket right in time to start using it and getting cozy and warm near the fire.

It's a girl ... It's a girl blanket!

Hi there dear friends...
I can't believe that almost 10 days have gone by since I have posted... Life is very busy around here. School started, we had all of our closets done so now I can finally take all of our clothes out of boxes and I have been finding a minute here and there to knit a bit and crochet a little.

Our niece K are having a sweet baby girl in November ...we are so excited we can't stand it ... This last Saturday we had a baby shower for her and I have been making a few things for this sweet little girl she is going to have soon.
I made a few burp rugs with crochet edges, a cute little bib and finally a blanket I love to make for all the babies in the family ...
They have chosen the nursery to be yellow and grey, a combination I absolutely love since yellow is one of my favorite colors...
So when I was at the fabric store and found this fabric I knew right away this was going to be the perfect blanket for them.
Perfect yellow, with the right grey. I found a good yellow yarn and designed the crochet edge...
I think it was a perfect combination and I'm very happy with the result and I think Mom-to-be really liked it also ... Now I can't wait to wrap the sweet little girl in the blanket and just give her lots of hugs and loves ...
Babies are so wonderful and sweet ....
