Thanksgiving is gone and "It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Hi There Friends...
Thanks so much for all your kind and nice comments. You are the reason I come back here (almost) every week and I'm so grateful and thankful for you ... We had a wonderful and not as quiet as I was hoping for Holiday, but we had a great time with our family and then on Saturday we had another feast with our friends...
We all enjoyed and probably eat a lot more than we should've ... but we don't do that every day so it was just fine...
I was working on doing a leaf to put on my table ...

My builder (and now friend), Kristy told me about this pattern which I absolutely love.  It's on Ravelry and you find as Wolly Acorn and Oak Leaf designed by Marie Mayhem.

It Looked great when I had the table all set up, with a table cloth it looked so pretty. Unfortunately I have been getting home so late that we really do not have any light to take good pictures...So that is all I have for now.

I bought the yarn and my plan is to have 2 more done. They are all different colors and I think it will look great when they are all together, but I really don't think I'll get to it again till next year as I won't really put them on the table till next fall...
I can't wait to work on them again and see it all together.

I also bought some yarn for more hats ...

I'm sooooo very excited as I had been wanting  this yarn for such a long time. I found it at one of our local yarn shops and could not resist ... so 3 more hats will be born before Christmas...

and talking about Christmas ... I did a little decorating this weekend also. The Christmas tree is not decorated yet ... just lights... but it does give the feeling that "it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas" around here ... and I love it .

I just love this santa ... he has such a great attitude and he looks so happy ...

And this is my nutcracker collection. My husband and the kids have giving me one every year for the 24 years we have been married.

A couple of years ago I made the stockings for us and I was so happy they turned out cute and fun ....

I know you cannot really see our Christmas tree very well, but I thought this picture turned out  really fun ... When the tree is decorated I will show it again soon ...

I hope you are enjoying the beginning of your Christmas season and that you are enjoying time with your families, loved ones and friends whichever way you celebrate...

I'm very happy you are here to "see" me and wish you a wonderful Christmas month ...

A Little Bit of Christmas

Last Saturday I helped our club - dresses for little girls in Africa - at my kids school to make ornaments for our Christmas tree which will be auctioned next Saturday at our Yullefest.
We made ornaments and next Friday we will decorate the tree with them.
It was so much fun... And even more fun knowing that all the money from our tree will go right back to our club and we will continue to make more dresses and send it to the little girls in Africa...
So , so very rewarding ...
Nothing fancy ... Neither the dresses nor the ornaments, but they are made with so much love and by girls ( and their moms) here in the US who are thinking about those little girls who have such a huge smile in their faces each time they get a new dress :) :) :)

It makes me sooooo happy I have a huge smile in my face...
Hope you are enjoying all the preparation for "the most wonderful time if the year".

I'm so happy you stopped by and want to wish a very happy and wonderful December.

A Little bit of Christmas

Yes, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...and we are so busy. A good busy though.
Decorating... Spending time with the kids, shopping and more shopping ( which s not one of my favorite things to do) and a little bit of knitting and crochet.
I still have lots of projects to finish...but now things should slow down a little and I'll have a little bit more time to work on my Christmas gifts.

So, today I just want to show you a little bit of Christmas in my house ...

Now, I'm working on some projects but cannot show many of them as they are going to be Christmas presents...

I'll show them later after I give them to the proper owner...

My husband and I just had our 22nd anniversary yesterday and last week we celebrated going to a Yulefest party at our kids school...
we got dressed up ... and had a really fun evening...
22 years and I'm so lucky to have this man by my side...
God is truly good to me!

Happy Anniversary Honey.
Thank you for such great 22 year!

I'm so glad you came to visit me and I'm sorry I have been so busy and not here often...

Thanks for visiting me and hope you come back soon!
I hope you are enjoying your holiday festivities!

Christmas little gifts and more hats

Hi there Friends...

I'm starting to feel like the Holiday is approaching too fast and I'm already starting to have this feeling that I won't have enough time to get everything done...

I tried to start really early this year so I feel very good because I already finished and sent everything to my family in Brazil.
I also started and have almost finished with teacher's little gifts..
We are doing it very simple as my kids have 7 teachers each.
We made this magnets with very cute pictures on them.

They were fun to make and I hope their teachers will like it. We made sets of 3 for each teacher...They can use in their classroom or refrigerator to hold notes and photographs...

We are almost all done with those and will start to package them this next weekend... I'll show you when the sets are all separated and done...

I also have been making lots of little hats. As I mentioned before my mom and sister help supports an orphanage/Center to help needy children in Brazil. They help pregnant moms by making a whole layette for the new baby and I have been trying to make some hats to send so they can add to it.
It's so fun and such a great feeling to see how happy the mom's are when they get their bag... the happiness in their eyes is worth any of the effort and for me it's fun to make these hats thinking about the end result.

So here are some of the hats...
some are my own pattern like these ones ...

And some I saw at Shari's blog www.lauren'scloset.blogspot.com

And some at www.tangledmehappy.com

Sorry the pictures look side ways... I'm too tired to figure it out how to change them...I did have lots of fun making each one of them.

Now... I have been working on some ornaments that I
will sale in a holiday bazaar or on my etsy store... I'm getting ready to post them there and will let you know when I am done so you can check it out...
I try to do one bazaar a year and part of the proceeds goes again to help the children in Brazil.

Well friends it's Monday (Oh wait ) it's Tuesday ...but it feels like Monday because it was a holiday for me yesterday and I'm so very tired...
I'm going upstairs drink my tea and knit for a little bit before I go night-night...

Next time I will show you my ornaments...

Thanks for coming to visit me and I hope to see you again soon.
Have a wonderful week!

:)
