Spring into Spring

Hi there Friends...

My little neighbor, who I have know since she was in her Mama's tummies, turned 7 this weekend and I thought what else to make a little girl happy other than a few cute little headbands...

I saw this headbands at Ana's blog www.lanasdeana.blogspot.com. I love them and
decided to make a few of them for my little friend. I like it so much I'm now making all kinds of variations and making a few more... I will show soon...

It's beautiful and sunny here this week so that inspire me to make all kinds of Springy things and to Spring right into Spring :) :) :)

Hope you have a wonderful, bright and beautiful week.

As always thank you for coming to visit me here and thank you to all my new followers for stoping by today ... Your comments make my day :)

My Purple Bag

It has been a while that I wanted to make a new Knitting PURPLE BAG for me ... One that really shows my favorite color (Purple) and also that I knitted myself...
I had looked for a while and I could have gone really crazy ...but I also wanted a simple but charming pattern...
I have made many knitted bags, but I always come back to this simple pattern (which is my own) and then made the flowers from a Noni pattern (which is a bought pattern)...

So ... I started with this ...

(noticed my purple nails ??? ;)

Then I made these...

And I got this ...

My very own Purple Bag (well, actually black and purple. But the inside is all purple... I'll show you soon ...I promise :))

Sorry the pictures are not the greatest (the light is terrible in the house at night), but I really, really wanted to show it to you...

I have been working on a few other projects, but I tell you... 1st week of school and 2 High Schoolers in the house now...I'm exhausted and more than ready to go to bed and relax a little bit...
I'm just so very glad today is FRIDAY :) :) :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and I hope you come to visit me again soon.

While I Seat with my daughter.

I have not forgotten you my dear friends, I just have been so very busy after we came back from vacation...
And my daughter just had surgery today and took all 4 of her wisdom teeth...
The poor baby...she was so upset and cried all morning and of course that is so hard on us Moms... I wish I could take the pain and make her feel better...
I have set here in my family room and watched her all day... and just prayed that she feels better soon...
While I set with her I got a few things finished... and started...
Remember my yellow shawl I started while on vacation ???
Well... I was working on it while sitting in the sun...

Then we got home and I decided to do something a bit different so decided to add some beads to the edge...

That was a little crazy and it took quiet some time to finish it ...I even requested my daughters help as I had to change several attempts in order to have the beads weaved in...

I was very happy with the end result... and off I went to block it...

Now that is the final Tah-Dah...
I'm really happy and although I really enjoy the sun and do not want summer to end... I know I'll really enjoy the first time I get to wear this one :)

Now As I mentioned I have also started a few new projects and have been working on some other ones ...
But I do have to go and tend to my daughter as I'm all her today and this weekend...
But before I go here are a few of my favorite flowers from Hawaii...
such pretty gift to us...

Thanks for visiting me again and I hope to see you soon again.
Have a wonderful weekend :)

I love my backyard...

Yes, it is starting to look a bit like summer in our backyard...
I love my house and I love our backyard even more.
It is peaceful, serene and so very green. A beautiful sight of nature...
It inspires me... all the trees, flowers and vegetables give me a peaceful feeling that is hard to describe...

and I owe it all to my husband and all the hard work he puts in place to make this little piece of heaven all our own.

I love when we wake up in the weekends and it is sunny... I can seat outside to have my breakfast and just enjoy all this beauty God have created...

Look at this flowers and all this vegetables growing as the sun hits them...

I feel so lucky, so privileged and thankful for all that we have.

Aren't these flowers just gorgeous ??? I had never noticed how perfectly well purple and red goes together ... Nature is just so perfect!

My husband and my son built this great steps with reclaimed wood and he puts all the herbs and a few vegetables in there...it looks so great and the herbs are doing wonderful...they love their new home :)

More Flowers... more colors... more inspiration...

And here is where we sit on those nice, warm summer days and enjoy our coffee and each others company and where I do my knitting and crocheting...
Oh...how I love our backyard :)

Thanks for stopping by to see my backyard.
Hope to see you soon again. Tchau :) (oh yeah...this means ciao in Portuguese)

PS: I have been working on this "scarf" for a month and now that I thought I was almost done my daughter told me she thinks it's too wide... which I agree...

So, now I'm thinking about trying to make it into a table runner...
Granny squares in the edge???
Just a simple edge with double crochet???
Or Japanese flowers in the edge???
What do you think???

Thanks for stopping by...I would love if you leave a comment :)

Another talented Sister

Yes, I have 2 very talented sisters...

I have shown you a scarf my middle sister, Sarah crocheted for me last week.

Now I want to show a little of what my sister Helida made for me also.
They both love to crochet and they are both great mothers and to honor them and their many talents I have shown a little bit of what they do... and the great things they have made for me.
This are beautiful handmade flowers
added to my blouse.

This are flowers again in a different color

And these are beautifully embroidered towels with crochet edge that both my kids get every time we go there ... so they don't own a towel that it's not beautifully trimmed :) so happy!

I just love being surrounded by such great talent...
I'm so lucky and so grateful! :)

Voila!! Hope you enjoy it!

Since this is my first time adding pictures to my blog I think I can do better, but today is Friday and I worked really hard this week and I just want to make a good cup of tea, crawl up in my couch and do a little bit of my crochet again.
I have been working on a colorful bag inspired by one I saw at  attic24.com. She is so talented and I really love all her work. Soon I'll show you a picture and all the progress I have made... I am almost done and I'm very excited to wear it since the sun decided to show up here in this side of the world again.

Hope to see you soon again. Till next time Happy Knitting and Crocheting!
