My Favorite Magaazine

Hi there my friends...No I have not disappeared ...

I have had a very sad and exhausting week... One of my best friends lost her second grandson (a very heartbreaking story)...I feel so, so bad for her that all I can do is pray and hope that she, her daughter and their family start to find a little bit of comfort.  I have been trying to spend a little bit of time with her and do everything I can to help her start healing... these are such hard moments in our lives...

Another great friend is also going through some rough time...their little dog has been in the hospital for a whole week...he is showing a tiny little bit of improvement today...and that is a blessing... but that has been very hard on their family also...

 I just cannot believe how sad this week has been...I just feel so blessed that we are all healthy and doing well in my family. 

I also have been so very busy getting the kids ready for school... 3 more days and I'll have 2 kids in High School...that is just amazing ... it seems like it was yesterday when they started kindergarten...and life goes on...

While looking for school supplies, new clothes...etc ..etc... I saw that my favorite magazine is already out...

I LOVE Debbie Bliss yarn and especially love her magazine...I have every issue since the first one...

That was a bit of happy news for me for this week (also the fact that my sister is feeling better since they found out what was wrong with her... she had been having stomach pain for 1 whole month...after lots of tests, ultrasound and more tests they figured out and they were able to get her feeling much better with a simple medicine :) YEAH!! for happy news...

Anyways... I need to run...my son is on a new soccer team for his High School (Im so proud of him - he made the JV team! well, look at that... another Happy news for this week:)) and we have to go to a dinner with his team...

More news tomorrow and I'll then show you what I have been working on...

I'll continue to pray for both my friends and I continue to be so grateful for all the blessings that we have in our lives ...including YOU...who stopped by to see me today...

My Door Needs a New Wreath

Ok we are now full force in August and my door still had my 4th of July wreath... remember it ???

and I kept thinking that it is not fall yet so I do not want to welcome the cold by putting something that reminds me of it just yet...

Well, I had seen a very cute wreath at a local yarn shop and I thought I could make one for my door.

So on Saturday I was determined to change the look on my front door and give it a summery "make up" :)

So, I started by collecting some of my left over yarn (which I have to admit I have plenty ...:)

Made little yarn balls of different sizes...

Got a plain wreath from one of our local craft stores and covered with a piece of felt ...

And then glued all the yarn balls in the wreath... and 

tah- dah ....guess what I got ???

A pretty and fun entrance door.

My son said that everyone will know that this is a "knitting/crochetting house", but we all agreed that this is exactly what it is ... everyone knows that there is a person who looooooves to knit and crochet living in this house ...

and YES I am proud of it :)

While I Seat with my daughter.

I have not forgotten you my dear friends, I just have been so very busy after we came back from vacation...

And my daughter just had surgery today and took all 4 of her wisdom teeth...

The poor baby...she was so upset and cried all morning and of course that is so hard on us Moms... I wish I could take the pain and make her feel better...

I have set here in my family room and watched her all day... and just prayed that she feels better soon...

While I set with her I got a few things finished... and started...

Remember my yellow shawl I started while on vacation ???

Well... I was working on it while sitting in the sun...

Then we got home and I decided to do something a bit different so decided to add some beads to the edge...

That was a little crazy and it took quiet some time to finish it ...I even requested my daughters help as I had to change several attempts in order to have the beads weaved in...

I was very happy with the end result... and off I went to block it... 

Now that is the final Tah-Dah...

I'm really happy and although I really enjoy the sun and do not want summer to end... I know I'll really enjoy the first time I get to wear this one :) 

Now As I mentioned I have also started a few new projects and have been working on some other ones ...

But I do have to go and tend to my daughter as I'm all her today and this weekend...

Aloha... I'm back ... and we had so much fun!!!

It has been such a great vacation...

We had such a wonderful time and most importantly we have so many wonderful family memories for years to come.

I want to share some of our trip and our wonderful moments together with you ...

Yeah.. we are here :)

Finished this one ...I'll block it this weekend and will show you the final project really soon ...

Lost the pattern for this one, so I'll have to pick it up again here at home... 

Still working on this one...that will be a scarf...

I'll put all the details and information about my projects as I post the final pictures...

Now it's back to work..lots of laundry to do... and a little bit of jet lag ...But one thing is for sure...

We had such a wonderful time and our hearts are full of great family memories.:) :) :) I'm so very happy and feel so very blessed...
