I had plans for this Sunday... Oh how I had plans...
I was at a great yarn store, The Yarn Garden, this past Friday, which I have been going to for the past 10 years. While there with one of my great friends, Natalie, we met a very talented man who knits amazing garments. I don't know his real name but his coffee cup said his name was Fluffy and I like the name because it matched his personality... While I was talking to him and one of the sales person, I mentioned that I really shouldn't buy any more yarn than what I bought that day (even though there was another project I think I'll have to go back for ...) because I had too many projects to finish ( I start to get a bit anxious when I have more than 10 projects started ... ha, ha) and that I especially wanted to finish this sweater I started sometime in the beginning of the year. . . he then told me that every Sunday he separates the day to knit on a sweater he is working on ... and he calls it Sweater Sundays... I have to say I just loved the idea... and I decided I'm going to do the same...
I didn't have much time to work on it today and I don't know how much I can do every Sunday, but it's a great feeling to know that at least on Sundays I'll be working on my sweater and that eventually my sweater will get done on ...Sweater Sundays...
The sweater I'm working on now is the Snowbird by Heidi Kirmaier and you can find more details on my post on january 4th 2013. I am still working on the sleeves , but you can see her finished project on the last picture I posted here.
So, even though I don't really know you ...Thank you Fluffy for the idea and when my sweater is done I'll be thankful for the quiet, simple relaxing sweater Sundays.
Hope you all are having a great weekend and enjoying your "sweater or "whatever project you are working on" Sunday" ...
I'm so happy you you stopped by to visit me and thank you for your comments make my day :)

Hello Beautiful Taci! I, too, like the idea of setting Sunday's aside for a special project. I managed to knit a pair of wool socks today. They were child size, worsted weight yarn so I guess that feat wasn't too impressive. :-). Have a wonderful week my friend.

That is such a good idea to adopt Taci - sometimes we just need that extra little nudge to keep us going with projects; I should try it with my two blankets-to-be! Your sweater is looking really good - keep going, you'll soon be there! Joy x
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Taci! Fluffy's idea is a fun way to encourage you to regularly work on your sweater until it is done. Thanks for sharing :)

Hello Taci. Sounds like a delightful time you had - especially meeting 'Fluffy' great name. I like your idea of Sweater Sundays. My son wants me to knit him a sweater and I keep putting it off as I have so many things in progress already. Am thinking though that might be a good idea. Look forward to seeing your finished sweater. Hugs Anne x
ReplyDeleteSweater Sunday's sound like a fantastic idea. I love that sweater Taci, I looked up the designer to find that I have about 5 of her creations in my Ravelry Library, she is fantastic. I am making a shawl I am trying to create on my own then feel head over heels in love with a cowl pattern, so darn if I didn't add another project to work on. That puts me at 4 WIP's for the moment.

ReplyDeletePlease teach me to knit....really!

I am looking forward to seeing you model this sweater for us the next time we have lunch together, hopefully during the holidays! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWish I could knit. Would love to take lessons so I could whip up something like that. I like the idea of setting aside some time to work on your knitting. It's coming together very nicely! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater says COZY to me. I can't wait to see your finished project. The color you chose is fabulous!
