Thinking about Christmas

Hi there friends ...
Here I am again. Still trying to catch up. Our place is still a bit of a mess and I don't know if I will be able to get it the way I like before we move to our house.
We have too many things to fit here and it's very hard to get motivated even for minimum decoration. Maybe I'll try a little harder this coming weekend.

While we are still trying to adjust ( it's been almost a month in the apartment) I'm starting to think about what to do for Christmas...
I made some of these pot holders last year for gifts and gave one to my sister-in-law ..She really liked them and requested if I could make another one ...
Well, well, well what are we to do when we get requests... Me ??? I just get so excited I decided I'm making them for all of them: 3 sister-in-laws, 2 nieces and my MIL. I just started them this weekend so I have only made one pair so far.
I have not followed a pattern, this time because i don't have one. I have a friend at work who was making them and she told me how so I just did...
If you want to fancy making some of your own ... Here you go...

With a size 4.5 mm hook and 100% cotton of your choice make 30 chains .
Start making sc all the way around ,
After you made about 4 rows you can change colors if you want a stripe or keep going with the same color.
As your work stars to grow change the direction of how you fold and keep making sc until both ends touch each other.
You can close the 2 ends ( which is my preference) or leave it open to fit your hand inside...
In my opinion ( and a few of my fiends and family) It's the perfect size pot holder.
I hope you can make many of them, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try my best to help.

I hope you are having a wonderful week and that your days are bright and sunny ( even if its just inside your heart).
We are having a wonderful weather here in Oregon this week... Beautiful fall weather and the most wonderful sunny days... So happy 🌞

Oh and before I go just wanted to say how excited I am I just got my 100 follower...

And to celebrate I'll be thinking about a special giveaway to come soon ... Watch for it in my next post :)

Thanks for stoping by to see me today.
You make my day :)

Lots of love :)

  1. Congratulations on having 100 followers, of your blog Taci :) Blogging friends are so encouraging, aren't they. I too love the potholder pattern you are using. The friend who showed me how to make them suggested I use 36 chains, but I am going to try 40 sometime. Thanks for sharing. I finished the cocoon blanket and have started on the matching cap for the baby.
I hope you are able to have a good rest this weekend and that you will be able to feel more settled until you can move into the new house. Heather from the blog At Home in the Meadow is in the same situation as you are, waiting for their new house to be built. Have you read her blog. She enjoys crocheting, too :)
