Busy making Christmas Gifts
So Sorry it's been so long since I was here again...
December is always a very busy month...running around with the kids, trying to get all the gifts bought and all the handmade done... wrapping, baking and doing our best to spend time with family as much as we can.
I have been getting home late and did not have any time this past weekend... I had committed to do a Farmers Market on our neighborhood to sale our coffee (we bring coffee from Brazil and other countries and my husband roasts it and we sale it here... more as a hobby right now as we both work full time (but with the hopes that it will be a good business for us some day). It was a very busy and not so profitable weekend, but it was a good experience.
In between all the craziness I was able to finish one more Christmas gift... for my husband this time and I think it's safe to show it to you here as I don't think he visits very often.
I made him this Oh so comfy sleepers... I'm actually thinking about making some for me after I finish all my Christmas gifts.
I found them at Erika Knight's book: Simple Crocheting. I just love her book and every single project, and I have to say I'm not disappointed.
The pictures are not so great as I took them all at night, laying in my bed while I was crocheting them... I sure had fun making them and I really hope my husband likes them, I think they will look a lot better on him than they do on me :)
I have been trying to keep up with your blogs but I have to say I missed you all and missed being here. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying your holiday preparations and have a wonderful week.
Ps: just wanted to give credit where credit is due ad let you know that this beautiful tree you see here is at my MIL house...

A Little Bit of Christmas
Last Saturday I helped our club - dresses for little girls in Africa - at my kids school to make ornaments for our Christmas tree which will be auctioned next Saturday at our Yullefest.
We made ornaments and next Friday we will decorate the tree with them.
It was so much fun... And even more fun knowing that all the money from our tree will go right back to our club and we will continue to make more dresses and send it to the little girls in Africa...
So , so very rewarding ...
Nothing fancy ... Neither the dresses nor the ornaments, but they are made with so much love and by girls ( and their moms) here in the US who are thinking about those little girls who have such a huge smile in their faces each time they get a new dress :) :) :)
It makes me sooooo happy I have a huge smile in my face...
Hope you are enjoying all the preparation for "the most wonderful time if the year".
I'm so happy you stopped by and want to wish a very happy and wonderful December.

Cold days call for Boot cufs
It's been a while since I've been here again.
Sometimes I feel like I wish I could be 4 people in one ... work, work, work...be a mom, a wife and then have a couple of minutes for myself ... but those minutes don't come very often... and I think that is why I don't get to be here as often as I want to... but enough with the excuses, right?
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I have been trying really hard to get some of my Christmas gifts ready. I love, really love, making gifts for everybody, but sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed because I always feel like I will not have enough time to finish everything.
And because I cannot show any of my Christmas presents I'm making yet (just in case somebody is watching...) I'll show you these boot cuffs I'm making for me and my daughter when I get a little break (it is already getting really cold in this side of the world).
Hope you are getting ready for thanksgiving and having as much fun as I'm waiting for Christmas to get here... it will be sooner than we think.
Have a fun and warm weekend (even if it's right beside a nice fire).
Thanks for stopping by today... you make my day.

Baby Blankets...oh so cute.
Babies are so cute and I really enjoy make "things for them".
Last week 1 of our friends and a friend at work had a baby in the very same day. A baby boy and a baby girl.
So I got to work and this last weekend that is the result...
2 cute baby blankets for 2 precious babies...
We went to visit them and got to see the baby which was the greatest gift of all.
Just a quick post today to say HI and let you know I have been having some computer troubles so can't really do very long posts but wanted you to know I'm still here and really appreciate your "visit" and your comments.
Have a fun, enjoyable, creative week.
Lots of Love :)

Sweater Sunday
I had plans for this Sunday... Oh how I had plans...
I was at a great yarn store, The Yarn Garden, this past Friday, which I have been going to for the past 10 years. While there with one of my great friends, Natalie, we met a very talented man who knits amazing garments. I don't know his real name but his coffee cup said his name was Fluffy and I like the name because it matched his personality... While I was talking to him and one of the sales person, I mentioned that I really shouldn't buy any more yarn than what I bought that day (even though there was another project I think I'll have to go back for ...) because I had too many projects to finish ( I start to get a bit anxious when I have more than 10 projects started ... ha, ha) and that I especially wanted to finish this sweater I started sometime in the beginning of the year. . . he then told me that every Sunday he separates the day to knit on a sweater he is working on ... and he calls it Sweater Sundays... I have to say I just loved the idea... and I decided I'm going to do the same...
I didn't have much time to work on it today and I don't know how much I can do every Sunday, but it's a great feeling to know that at least on Sundays I'll be working on my sweater and that eventually my sweater will get done on ...Sweater Sundays...
The sweater I'm working on now is the Snowbird by Heidi Kirmaier and you can find more details on my post on january 4th 2013. I am still working on the sleeves , but you can see her finished project on the last picture I posted here.
So, even though I don't really know you ...Thank you Fluffy for the idea and when my sweater is done I'll be thankful for the quiet, simple relaxing sweater Sundays.
Hope you all are having a great weekend and enjoying your "sweater or "whatever project you are working on" Sunday" ...

Thinking about Christmas
Hi there friends ...
Here I am again. Still trying to catch up. Our place is still a bit of a mess and I don't know if I will be able to get it the way I like before we move to our house.
We have too many things to fit here and it's very hard to get motivated even for minimum decoration. Maybe I'll try a little harder this coming weekend.
While we are still trying to adjust ( it's been almost a month in the apartment) I'm starting to think about what to do for Christmas...
I made some of these pot holders last year for gifts and gave one to my sister-in-law ..She really liked them and requested if I could make another one ...
Well, well, well what are we to do when we get requests... Me ??? I just get so excited I decided I'm making them for all of them: 3 sister-in-laws, 2 nieces and my MIL. I just started them this weekend so I have only made one pair so far.
I have not followed a pattern, this time because i don't have one. I have a friend at work who was making them and she told me how so I just did...
If you want to fancy making some of your own ... Here you go...
With a size 4.5 mm hook and 100% cotton of your choice make 30 chains .
Start making sc all the way around ,
After you made about 4 rows you can change colors if you want a stripe or keep going with the same color.
As your work stars to grow change the direction of how you fold and keep making sc until both ends touch each other.
You can close the 2 ends ( which is my preference) or leave it open to fit your hand inside...
In my opinion ( and a few of my fiends and family) It's the perfect size pot holder.
I hope you can make many of them, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try my best to help.
I hope you are having a wonderful week and that your days are bright and sunny ( even if its just inside your heart).
We are having a wonderful weather here in Oregon this week... Beautiful fall weather and the most wonderful sunny days... So happy š
Oh and before I go just wanted to say how excited I am I just got my 100 follower...
And to celebrate I'll be thinking about a special giveaway to come soon ... Watch for it in my next post :)
Thanks for stoping by to see me today.
You make my day :)

Knitting a Hat and Still Recuperating
I'm sitting here in my tiny living room in our temporary "hotel apartment" as the kids like to call it.
Let me tell you ... It's an adventure everyday... Trying to find something we have no idea where it's is or even if we still have it is now part if our everyday routine :)
It's a cleansing feeling, don't get me wrong, but still a difficult adjustment for all of us.
We will be happy in the end when our house is built just the way we always dreamt. In the meantime we are patiently waiting in our tiny apartment ...
But one thing I have to sayid that I'm so very proud of my family and my kids ...we are all getting along just fine and doing the best we can to take all the positives out of this experience ...
Life is good and we are happy together .
In the meantime while waiting I'm slowly getting back to my normal self and being able to knit and crochet again... I finished a hat for my husband and I think he will really like it.
I made the same one last year for him, but we gave it to our neighbor.
He goes to OSU - Oregon State University ( where my husband also went) . He was visiting and it was his birthday so I gave it to him and told my husband I would make another one for him...
Well ... A year later ... Here you go ... Another one was born ...
Better late than never, right ??? I think he will be happy when I give it to him tonight as its getting really cold now.
I also wanted to take a moment today before I go to remember a man who was an exceptional person, an unforgettable friend and a wonderful father ...
My dear father who I miss so much and who left us 4 years ago today.
I believe that those who we love never die they simply leave before us... But I miss you so very much my dear father.
Thanks to all of my new followers and to all of you who continue to visit me here ..
Your comments and your presence make my day ...
Have a wonderful week.
Lots of love.
PS: had a GREAT time seeing my dear blog friends last Friday...we always enjoy getting together and have so much fun.
Can't wait to see them again ! :)
